i need info on how to find out how old a baseball/softball bat could be, it a H&B # 54?

i bought it at a Goodwill and believe it is a softball bat, cause it longer and skninnier than a baseball bat. i thought i could look it up from the company but had no luck. the label on the bat says H&B in the center with the number 54 above it. It says Hillerich and Bradsby above the number and Louisville KY below it. beside the label its stamped "Its a Louisville" Any information would be helpful. thank so much
