Great goals in soccer are sometimes called "wonder goals." To be clear, Carlos Tevez' second goal against Mexico today doesn't quite qualify. But it's close.

Tevez' rocketed strike from outside the box is about as good a whack as any player has given the much-maligned Jabulani ball in this World Cup, and gave the Albicelestes a 3-0 lead on a Mexico team that has been outclassed before and after Tevez' first—incorrectly called—goal.

You think the U.S. has had it bad in World Cups? Mexico's made it to the round of 16 in every World Cup since 1994, and lost in the round of 16 in every World Cup since 1994. (After this post was first published, Javier Hernandez made it 3-1 in favor of Argentina, but Mexico could not score again and lost by that margin.)
