As we all wait for an athlete to mistakenly announce his love of weed via Twitter on this day, 4/20, we've got this story to keep us company for the time being. Four football players were arrested for alleged cultivation of marijuana, which is a felony. Details via The Advertiser:

Junior linebacker Devon Lewis-Buchanan, sophomore quarterback Blaine Gautier, sophomore cornerback Rodney Gillis and junior safety Chris Richard were booked at 7:04 p.m. Monday into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

All but Richard had been released as of Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. on $20,000 bond.

According to Louisiana law, penalties for cultivation or selling or possession with intent to distribute less than 60 pounds of marijuana include five to 30 years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine. For 60 pounds up to 2,000 pounds it's a fine of $50,000-$100,000.

Ragin' Cajuns? More like Blazin' Cajuns, AMIRIGHT?

Of course, we have no idea exactly how much of the alleged green was around, so there's no word on what kind of penalty they might face. Also, there's been no comment from coach Rickey Bustle. Still, you've got to appreciate some incredible timing on the part of these four football players.

Dan Levy captured this moment during the U.S.-Sweden women's hockey game today. Kenny Albert relates a story about the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" being shown on tape delay -- the game had a 5 p.m. Eastern start -- and color analyst A.J. Mleczko stabs this dagger into the heart of NBC's Winter Olympics coverage:

"It would never work in this day and age. Too much technology, and text messaging, and other sort of social media. People would know the score the instant it happened."

To NBC's minimal credit, the instant classic from last night was shown live to anyone with MSNBC. But when even their on-air personnel are saying a current policy "would never work," doesn't it seem like NBC is in one dream world while the rest of us trudge along, shouting at the heavens?
